Medical Card Holders
Once again Carrigdhoun Surgery are delighted to offer GP services to medical card holders. If you are a medical card holder and would like attend the surgery please contact reception for further details.
Our Medical Card Services
If you have a medical card or doctor visit card, this allows you to see the doctor for free. This covers all usual GP care including:
- Acute Issues
- Check ups
- Doctor issuing prescriptions
- Winter vaccinations (flu and covid)
- Chronic Disease Management including the Prevention Programme.
Services that are NOT covered under the Medical Card/Doctor Visit Card scheme:
- Routine blood tests that are not part of the Chronic Disease Management Programme
- Warfarin monitoring
- Dressings
- Travel vaccinations
- Pre-employment medicals
- Insurance medicals/reports
- Medicals for legal purposes
- Examinations related to Fitness to Drive
- Passport/Identity reports
- Certificates/letters in support of applications for services under Social Welfare Acts
- Utilities reports/letters
- Preventative services (eg. Health screening)
